Pot, van Lienen & Baumgarten
Two diatonic accordions and a bass, played by Peter Pot, Arie van Lienen and Philip Baumgarten; its a simple lineup but it produces some wonerfully interesting music. This ensemble from the Netherlands focuses on folk music from France, Netherlands and Belgium, but their interpretations, often improvised, speak as much of jazz as tradition.
|The tension between the parts is delightful... The title tune doesn't have any complicated rhythmic changes. It is simply a knock out gorgeous tune, one of those simple inspirations where every note of the melody is perfect. The instrumental music in Nectar is the language of intimate European cafes, house parties and family celebrations. It's folk revival music without an over-academic feel. - Aaron Howard (RootsWorld)|

Please note! Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
