Modern interpretations of the songs of Inger Lauritzen of Lønstrup.
The quintet Norstrand had the privelege to work with Lauritzen's songbook. The group has taken the songs, and with great care they have rearranged them in their own unique context. Led by vocalist Mathilde Faldborg Sørensen, the ensemble plays violin, saxophone, piano and bass.
Inger Lauritzen knew what it was like to wait. She learned early, when her husband, Knud Lauritzen, was called to the sea to help distressed fishermen. She sat with three small children, and waited, never sure of the outcome of each trip. Music became her friend. She describes at once the harshness and beauty of nature, and she takes us on trips around the countryside. Inger still lives in Lønstrup, in the house called Nordstrand.

Please note! Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
