Trio Trad
Trio Trad (Wild Boar Music, Belgium)
$17.99
The Belgian ensemble of Aurélie Dorzée (violin), Luc Pilartz (violin and bagpipes) and a diatonic accordeonist Didier Laloy, Trio Trad cover a lot of traditional musical turf, from Sweden, Eastern Europe (Transylvania, Serbia, Hungary etc.), Shetland and Italy. They also make new Flemish music with their own compositions and tackle, rather nicely, a Bach Canon.

| "On all their stop-overs they manage to capture the essence of the regional folk music traditions - which is a rather remarkable and shows a lot of talent and knowledge of the traditions. This is quite an inspiring CD...." - Folkworld.de |
In the band's own words:
The music they bring comes from the whole of Europe : Scandinavia, the eastern countries, Ireland, ...
It inspired lot of our own compositions and left the necessary space for improvisation.
They sing the wide hungarian Puszta, the rough mountains of Val Resia , the loneliness of the norvegian fjords...
This music is beautiful and wild like those remote places that only have dreams as their frontiers ... An imaginary trip where emotion and the fire of the dance join in.
Official Bio:
The Trio played in the most different venues. Their collaboration with « Live Music Now » created by Yehudi Menuhin gave them the opportunity to perform in hospitals, prisons, psychiatric institutions, etc. They played at festivals in Huy, Héron Lavoir, at the Midi Minimes, at the Festival of Flanders, Puur Muziek, at the Tentation, at the "Fêtes de Wallonie" or the Gentse Feesten, in a large number of culture centra in Belgium. They where members of Panta Rhei during 5 years. They recorded 3 CD's with that band and crossed the whole of Europe and Northern Africa : Denmark, Germany, Tunisia, Marocco, Spain, Portugal, France, the Netherlands. They where part of concerts with José Van Dam and Bernard Foccroule in presence of Her Majesty the Queen Fabiola. In 2001, after they won a contests of the Jeunesses musicales de France with a performance specially adapted for children, they toured through France (the South East and the South West, the central regions and the North East). This gave them also the opportunity to perform for the Jeunesses Musicales of Belgium. They cooperated with artist as Perry Rose or Carlos Nunes in concerts and recordings.
A trio with Luc Pilartz fiddle and bagpipes, Aurélie Dorzée fiddle and Didier Laloy diatonic accordion. Move by their passion for folkmusic, these three musicians have been working together for nearly 6 years. The interpretation and refined arragments of Trio Trad cross the vast landscapes of Europe's musical traditions; deep melodies from Scandinavia or Ireland, bourrées from Auvergne, haunting dances from Hungary and Bulgary. They leave room for improvisation and own compositions. The music is beautiful and wild like those remote places that only have dreams as their frontiers. They sing the wide hungarian Puszta, the rough mountains of Val Resia , the loneliness of the norvegian fjords... An imaginary trip where joy and the emotion join in.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
