"The first batch of releases from this Belgian label drew enthusiastic critical praise from all over Europe, particularly the one by a female trio called Laïs. Kadril provided the varied and tasteful accompaniments on that album. They obviously enjoyed working with female singers because they have now acquired a fine one of their own, the Eva of the title, for their fifth album. Her relaxed and engaging singing helps to make this album the pick of this second batch from Wild Boar. As in the their accompaniments of Laïs, this album shows their versatility and the ability to sound everything from an intimate acoustic band to a sort of fairly heavy folk-rock on a selection of mainly traditional material from the Benelux countries. All the tracks have a strong melodic feel and lots of subtle changes of instrumental blends to maintain the interest. Lots of fine moments come from the hurdy-gurdy of Hans Quaghebeur and the fiddle of Peter Libbrecht and the singing of Eva De Roovere, particularly on the lovely 'Sylvia'." - Vic Smith, Folk Roots

The title of the record refers to the new singer, Eva De Roovere, who has taken the place of Patrick Riguelle. 'A potential platform sensation, this Eva. She combines a strong voice with a smooth platform presence and sex-appeal' (De Standaard).

It has become a CD with many influences, which occasionally looks back at its roots. Or as 'Oor' puts it: 'Kadril transforms archaic Flemish tunes into contemporary folk rock. The group deals in evocative hurdy-gurdy trance, melancholic ballads and obscure nyckelharpa-rock à la Hedningarna' or 'New Folk Sounds' : 'Kadril has once again advanced its career. The best in Flanders'.

Or in France on 'Radio Celtic FM': 'What a pleasure to discover this group! Their level attains to perfection. Each album title literally beams out harmony. An exercise in seduction which is going to make indelible prints on our programming. It won't be our listeners who venture to complain'.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
