Unusual music from unexpected places. The Copenhagen-based Klakki have set some ancient Chinese poemsto their unique orginal music, using traces of the Nordic musical traditions, but only as a medium used to create a unique popular, jazz-inflected art music. Vocalist (she also plays the harmonium on this recording) Nina Björk Elíasson and guitarist Hasse Poulsen wrote original music and English lyrics, joined by Henrik Simon Simonsen on acoustic bass and Lars Juul on drums and percussion.
This is one of those recordings that words ultimately perform an injustice upon, so just listen (and to more than one tune or you'll miss the point!).
