This is a documentary recording of traditional unaccompanied religious vocal music of the Faroe Islands. Some of the songs date at least as far back as the 17th century. The recordings were collected by Danish musicologist and composer Karl Clausen in the 70s. Most are solo singers or small groups of two or three, performing in a style that, while related to other European and Nordic musical styles, has, over its many years of isolation on the Faroes, developed a unique sound and structure.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
