Please note!
Most of our CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. I guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
Thanks- Cliff, cdRoots

Yahudice
- Hadass Pal-Yarden et al
- temp out of stock-20.99
Urban Ladino Music from Istanbul, Izmir, Thessalonica and Jerusalem 'Rarely, if ever, does top class scholarship balance passion and musical mastery as this effort by Hadass Pal-Yarden. It's hardly possible to catalog it simply as a CD with detailed notes, as the booklet is a 160 page affair with the same text accurately translated in English, Turkish and Hebrew. So there's meat for the more hungry readers, but for pure musical pleasure you could disregard the apparatus entirely and just let yourself be enticed into the finely shaded but deeply felt recreation of the largely lost world of the Ladino Jewry of the Ottoman empire.' - Francesco Martinelli, RootsWorld

Kece Kurdan (Chica Kurda)
- Aynur
- temp out of stock-17.99
fRoots says of this Kurdish recording: 'Keçe Kurdan consists of both traditional and original pieces composed by Aynur and others. Although various folk instruments are used, the arrangement and production are modern and recall the work of Kardes Türkuler in the manner in which traditional tunes, instruments and aesthetics are merged with elements of rock and even jazz. The sound is strong, quite bassy and infectiously percussive, all of which provide the perfect backdrop for Aynur's robust yet flexible voice... The significance of the emergence of a Kurdish star at the heart of the Turkish music industry will not be lost on anyone with an interest in Turkish music.'
