The record label says:
Pedro Caldeira was born Lisbon in 1950. As a child he began studying Portuguese guitar, classic guitar and the recorder (flute). Later he studied solfeggio, counterpoint and harmony with Prof. Artur Santos.
In 1970 he began studying lute, viola da gamba and other old string and wind instruments. Later he founded and directed the bands La Batalla and Concerto Atlântico which specialised in old music played on historical instruments. Between 1967 and 1975, he took various courses on contemporary music composition and worked with Karel Goyvaerts, Constança Capdeville, José Alberto Gil and Jorge Peixinho.
An autodidact in Portuguese guitar, Pedro Caldeira was inspired to develop his own style based on the guitar soloist tradition, combined with original techniques and elements from his studies of old instruments of Mediterranean Europe's erudite and popular traditions. As an interpreter he has expanded his soloist guitar repertoire through transcriptions of works by Bach, Weiss, Scarlatti, Seixas and others, and he has given live performances of other original new works written by contemporary authors.
In 1987, he founded, and has since managed, the Centro de Estudos e Difusão de Música Antiga (Centre for the Study and Disclosure of Old Music). He has also coordinated musical edition programs and studies on musical themes. Since 1970 he has given solo concerts in the main halls and festivals of Europe, United States of America, Macao and Brazil. He has also held conferences and seminars on musical themes in Europe (France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and Turkey) and the U.S.A..
He was in charge of the preproduction and artistic management at the Festival of Portuguese Guitar at EXPO '98. In 1999 he published the book A Guitarra Portuguesa (The Portuguese Guitar) - the first monographic work about the guitar's origins and historical evolution, an anatomical and repertoire study of this Portuguese instrument.
He was the commissary for the monographic exhibitions "Portuguese Guitar Memories" displayed at Prague's St. Agnes of Bohemia Convent, in the Czech Republic, in September 2000 and for à Descoberta da Guitarra Portuguesa (Discovering the Portuguese Guitar) at the Abade de Pedrosa Museum, in Santo Tirso, June 2002. This CD contains a booklet (portuguese and english) with 24 pages.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
