More about Clara Murtas
Press release from the record label:
Even though every language has its own magic of sounds and poetry, the translation of the title of this superb music piece can give an idea of the atmosphere that reigns throughout this record, which is the result of the artistic relationship between these two musicians. Murtas and Morricone met in 1974; at that time the Maestro was producing for RCA an album dedicated to the Greek dissident poet Alexandros Panagulis, and the young but promising Sardinian folk singer was one of the three vocalists involved. During the same year the great composer himself gave Murtas the chance to sing on the soundtrack he had composed for a movie directed by Giuliano Montaldo, L'Agnese va a morire.
So, when the singer asked Morricone to arrange for her Deus Ti Salvet Maria, the ancient Sardinian Ave Maria , he agreed with pleasure. His only condition was to go out of the tradition and find a new way to orchestrate the poem, building around it a suite inspired by improvisation, curiosity and invention, as he tells in the exclusive interview by journalist Maria Paola Masala featured in the CD booklet.
Every serious fan and collector of Morricone's records should secure a copy of this unique issue, which is the very first edition, limited to just 2000, enriched by a 32-page booklet featuring brilliant photos and an exclusive interview with the Maestro. Its timeless and eclectic music will be appreciated by a worldwide audience, no matter whether they love classical, rock, avant-garde, world or even contemporary music: it's all here, inside this sparkling jewel!

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
