Tanzania Instruments
Tanganyika 1950
From the Hugh Tracey recordings in Africa
Produced by Sharp Wood Productions (Netherlands) and International Library of African Music (ILAM - South Africa).
Features master-musicians playing some of the many instruments that were to be found in this large country, in both instrumental tunes and in accompaniment of songs. The dark rumblings of the nanga trough zither, sparkling likembe notes, deep drumming, flute laments, panpipes - from the northwestern corner near Lake Victoria to the musical melting pot of Zanzibar. A journey of highlights only.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
