Senge
Arembelo (Cobalt)
$17.99
Malagasy vocal music by a trio of Androy singers, accompanied by a stripped down ensemble of percussion, guitar and kabosy.
|
The record label says:
Senge means "pride", because the group is proud to be an Androy, a people long misunderstood especially by westerners. This acapella trio takes his inspiration in "Beko", a sacred vocal polyphonic style sang during the funerails, without instruments. But the members of the group are doctors and like a different version of "Beko" too, the "Sabo", used for hunting the devil in the posseded body. So, Senge take his inspiration in the "Banaike" rhythm using a kaboss for his album.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
