« On first impression an amazing blend of music, which on listening proves to be sensational, on “Saó” Jerez-Texas takes you to places beyond your imagination with great daring but without being overblown. » - Mondomix

« Jerez-Texas brings together imagination and musical creativity, quality and skill. » - El Mundo

« Flamenco’s inspiration and energy. A beautiful balance, their flamenco is bathed with sweetness and also a fresh inventiveness. An impressive version of Couleur Café and a charming arrangement of La Foule. » - Ouest-France

The offical bio of the ensemble:
Founded in Valencia (Spain) in 2002, Jerez-Texas is a story of chance encounters. Encounters between Ricardo Esteve, Matthieu Saglio and Jesús Gimeno; three brilliant instrumentalists from different horizons (flamenco for the first, classical for the second and jazz for the third), who elegantly mix popular music and classical music, melodic pleasure and virtuosity.

It is also the union of three instruments: flamenco guitar, cello and drums. An original and yet appealing formation. The music of Jerez-Texas, from flamenco to jazz, bossa and classical, speaks to the soul and mind.

It is on stage that this amazing union of the fieriness of flamenco with the freedom of jazz and elegance of the classical music reaches its apogee. With their subtly nuanced compositions and daring interpretations of jazz pieces and French songs, the group has entranced and enthralled a large audience over the course of more than 150 appearances in Spain and France. The concerts of Jerez-Texas, with their poetic intensity, have elevated this trio to the level of the most influential groups playing today.

From the ordinary music lover to the discerning cognoscenti, all succumb to the infectious fellowship that radiates from these three artists. As the saxophonist Jorge Pardo said, ‘You don’t fuse musical styles, you fuse musicians’.

Since 2002 Jerez-Texas have given almost 200 concerts in Spain, France, Namibia and Mexico in top venues such as Conde Duque (Madrid), Satellit Café ( Paris), Teatro de Benicassim,Tama de Aldaia and in festivals (Radio-France Festival in Montpellier, Eurojazz Festival in Mexico, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Trojazz Festival in Villena, Distrito Jazz Festival in Bilbao, L’Esclat Festival in Aldaia, Les Suds Festival in Arles, Un Mar de Musicas Festival in Castellon...

Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
