OK, the name is a little deceptive, as this marvelous ensemble from Spain barely uses the alboka in these songs, but leave that aside and listen to one of the most interesting ensembles I have heard in a while, full of Basque, Celtic and Spanish roots, lots of talent, loads of energy and a great group of assisting musicians. Accordions, whistles, fiddles and percussion are the main emphasis here, with lots of additional color from hurdy gurdy, mandola, guitar, bouzouki, reeds and more, plus great singing, including a number of tracks fronted by Hungarian singer Márta Sebestyén.
