Riccardo Tesi and Banditaliana
Melodeon master Tesi does it again, with a brilliant set of tunes and songs that span the globe for inspiration and then land squarely in Italy for execution. A band of melodeon, guitars saxophones and percussion is ably augmented by guests on bass, strings, reeds, vocals and percussion. Highlights include a tribute to Malagasy valiha player Justin Vali, and a phenomenally moody and beautiful "Penombre" (That, by the way, had its debut as a solo piece on last year's Free Reed Festival on RootsWorld) . There are a lot more vocals too, including contributions from Maurizio Geri, the Fratelli Mancuso, and Nando Citarella and his vocal ensemble.

| "... a joy it is, too. While there are still more jazz touches, particularly on the later tracks, there's also some striking vocal polyphony, and plenty of regionally-rooted playing, not just from Tesi himself (although he takes center stage) but also his bandmates on an unusual lineup of guitar, sax, and percussion/vibes... With this record, Tesi deserves acclaim for offering what is state of the heart Italian music." - Chris Nickson, GlobalVillageIdiot |

Please note!
Most of our CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and we are not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever we
can, we used recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
