Canzoniere Della Ritta E Della Manca is an ensemble dedicated to the rediscovery of the authentic tradition of Campania, a region of South Italy centered around Naples. This is music rooted in tradition, but definately contemporary in execution.
Led by Lello Campanelli e Pio Grasso - founding members - the group with MALEVENTO presents his newest recording where the colors, the timbers, the sounds typical of the Mediterranean Sea acquires a new freshness and a modern presentation.
Malevento mixes together the Middle-East rhythms, the beat of tammurriata, the a distesa singing typical of the traditional of Campania with blues flavors, jazz quotes and harmonies typical of the pop music. With this new sound you can listen the melodies, the vocal and instrumental counterpoints characteristic of "villanelle" and serenades to arrive to the hymn to the god of the Mediterranean Sea: the Sun.
