Calicanto25 anni Calicanto (self-published) Calicanto is one of the most important bands in the northern Italian folk musicscene. This double CD is an anthology of this amazing group, born in Padova 25 years ago. All the tunes in CD 1 were recorded live on September 8th, 2006 during the concert held in Villa Godi-Marinoni in Barbarano Vicentino (sound engineers Paolo Bernardini and Claudio Bellin), except for track 1 and 12 recorded on September 11th, 2005 at CENSER in Rovigo during the IV Festival `Ande, Bali e Cante´ (sound engineers Giorgio Spolaor and Blue Train´s staff). The tunes in CD 2 are all original versions taken from the 12 CDs published by Calicanto, most of which are no longer in print or readily available.

The work offers also some tunes that young Calicanto’s fans don’t know, such as 'Il circo Zac' and 'Verdolina' and some tunes born thanks to the artistic collaboration with international musicians: french J.M. Carlotti, bulgarian N. Jordanov, Alfio Antico, Paco Diez and Milladoiro from Santiago de Compostela, with whom Calicanto played ‘live’ a striking version of 'Contraddanze di Spalato'.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
