They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. I guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.

Röjås Jonas (1921-1989) from Boda in Dalarna was one of the greatest fiddlers in the history of Swedish traditional music. He passed away in 1989 but even today, almost 20 years later, he remains an important influence for many fiddlers in Sweden. Now, finally, the first full-length album featuring Röjås Jonas is released on the label Nordic Tradition. Most of the material on the CD was recorded by Jonas himself during the early 70's, just before the big folk music burst, and it's a testament to the legacy of one of the great legends of traditional music!

Multi-instrumentalist Erik Ask-Upmark discovered the harp through a long-lasting love affair with Irish music bu he is now one of the leading Nordic music performers on the instrument and this is the first album ever featuring exclusively Swedish folk music on solo harp. Erik has earned the official title of "Riksspelman" (Master musician of the Realm). He also plays the Baroque double harp (Arpa doppia) with ensembles such as Concerto Copenhagen and Ensemble Mare Balticum. He performs early music and Nordic roots music both as a soloist and with his groups Svanevit, Dråm and Falsobordone.

Simonson, one of the seminal musicians in the new Swedish folk revival, plays like no other flutist, with his own characteristic sting and intensity of sound and rhythm. In addition to the ordinary flute, he alternates with various overtone flutes and wooden flutes, as well as performing on the bass clarinet. Jonas performs with the legendary folk-fusion ensemble Groupa and Den Fule and previously performed with Bäsk, Kapell Frisell and the Vocal Ensemble Amanda.
