Please note!
Most of our CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. I guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
Thanks- Cliff, cdRoots

The music of Morten Alfred Høirup at cdRoots

- Morten Alfred Hoirup
(cdRoots# go-hoirup)
The Vineyard present six new melodies by Morten Alfred Høirup and three old ballads, played by folk-musicians from USA, Finland and Denmark. The very unusual and old Danish instruments used on many of the tracks give you a new version of this old European music as it might have sounded before it developed into what we today know as Danish traditional Folk music. Morten Alfred has created a name for himself throughout Scandinavia as a young rythm guitarist within a variety of genres: Danish, Celtic, American, French-Canadian and contemporary folk music.

Rejsedage/Travelling (CD/DVD)
- Haugaard and Hoirup
(cdRoots# go-hh5)
The 7th album of the Danish violin-guitar duo of Harald Haugaard and Morten Alfred Høirup is a celebtation of their 10th anniversary of working together, a CD and DVD set that is as wonderful as anything they have done. They are my friends as well as great musicians, and so I am highly biased, but nonetheless, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (DVD is NTSC/North America format)

- Haugaard and Hoirup
(cdRoots# go-hh4)
Any time violinist Harald Haugaard and guitarist Morten Alfred Høirup get together is an event. Their 2005 release Gæstebud is no exception. The intuitive timing of musical brothers, the impeccable musicianship, the brilliant choice of material are all evident in this, their 4th recording together. This time out they have invited along 'a few' friends to the party: Tapani Varis, Karen Tweed, Ruthie Dornfeld, Eileen Ivers, Hans Jørgen Christensen, Niall Keegan, Carl Erik Lundgaard, Karen Mose, Helene Blum, Sofia Karlsson, Channe Nussbaum, Helen Davies, Ale Möller, Alasdair Fraser, Natalie Haas and the folks from Le Vent du Nord: Benoit Bourque, Olivier Demers, Simon Beaudry and Nicolas Boulerice. Not a bad guest list!

Om Sommeren
- Haugaard and Hoirup
(cdRoots# go-hh3)
The third studio recording by the Danish duo is every bit as wonderful as the previous ones. Harald Haugaard's fiddle playing just gets better and Morten Alfred Høirup's guitar work is, as always, superb. The bonus on this release: Morton sings on a few tracks, his husky, heartfelt vocals adding another fine touch to the duo's work.

Svip Svap Svovlstikke
- Sonnich Lydom and Morten Alfred Hoirup
(cdRoots# go-0510)
Lydom (1 and 2 row diatonic accordion, harmonica) and Høirup (guitar/vocals) are both veteran performers on the Danish folk scene. They have each traveled the world with their music, recorded a number of albums and received a combined 9 Danish Music Awards. The album is named for an old dance tune from the island of Fanø. Lydom culled much of the music on the album from old tune collections and from archives at the Danish Institute of Folklore, music that has never before been recorded or published. Also on the album are three original tunes by Høirup, and three Danish songs. They are joine by Danish klezmer queen Channe Nussbaum on vocals, American fiddler Ruthie Dornfeld, Finnish jews harpist Tapani Varis and Danish fiddler Peter Gorm Sørensen, amongst others.
