The band's own notes on the recordings:
The record was recorded in the studios Cormorán (A Picaraña-Padrón), in January of 1996. Alberto Casas and Xosé M. Tasende took care of the technical section. The production took care of Cormorán Produccións and it was distributed by Discmedi SA. In that time TREIXADURA was made up of: XAN LÓPEZ, ANTÓN LÓPEZ, XAQUÍN XESTEIRA, RAMÓN VAZQUEZ y PAULO NOGUEIRA.

This job has twelve themes, eight of those are traditional:
"Pasodoble Corrido" y "Aires de Carnaval/O camiño do Santo Cristo", from the repertory of OS CAMPANEIROS.
"Polca dos Areeiras/Danza da Cruz": polka of the charismatic AREEIRAS from Catoira and dance collected from the popular tradition, that you still can listen in the Condado´s area.
"Lembranza do Xestal": theme which one we wanted to pay a well deserved tribute to Carlos Díaz "o Xestal", humorist and folklorist that left us in 1993, and knew how to transmit us his love and passion for the popular culture.
"Pasodoble de Emilio": we learnt it from the ESCOLA DE GAITAS DE VILAFRANCA DO BIERZO, that, in turn , collected it to Emilio Díaz Gutiérrez, piper from that place.
"Alalá de Carballo": popularized by the choir CANTIGAS E AGARIMOS, with lyric of Crisanto Sanmartín Beiroa and popular music saved in the memory of Xesús San Luis Romero, another important celebrity of our folklore.
"Foliada do San Amaro": learnt from the already dissapeared group MILLO VERDE of Aldán.
"Muiñeira de Oliveira": collected in the land of Ponteareas, by Maximino Souto and Angie Dopazo.
"Airiños, Aires": rapsodia from the composer and director Gustavo Freire. It´s composited of popular songs, being him who disposed them to be played for a music band. We, as logic, made our own adaptation for a bagpiper´s band.
The three remaining themes are author´s themes:
"Foliada da Cantiga Mareira": included in the "Fantasía de Cantiga Mareira" compound by Ramón González Enríquez during his stage as director of the choir CANTIGAS DA TERRA.
"Marcha Nupcial": compound by Nando Casal, piper of the group MILLADOIRO.
"Muiñeira do Piñeiro": musical of Rafael Fernández, piper of Aldán (Cangas do Morrazo) who actually lives in Cataluña. He is the son of "señor José", dear "gaiteiro do Piñeiro".
"Airiños, Aires": rhapsody of the composer and director Gustavo Freire. It´s compound of popular themes, being he who prepared all to be interpretated by a music´s band. We, as to be expected, have done our own adaptación for our piper´s group.
We counted the colaboration of several friends in "Obrigado" :
Delio Domínguez, who, since our begining, he gave us the "mill" for the practices. (You can him as "singer" of [Colaboradores] flamenco playin with the galician guitarrist Cuchús Pimentel).
Antón Guisande, photos´s author, good friend and "oficial photographer " of the group.
Secundino Diz, extraordinary painter and author of the anagran which, durin the firs years, accompanied to TREIXADURA.
Dolores Fernández, authoress of the draw about "o Xestal" that figures in the record and regular supporter of the group.
Xabier and Afonso "Pindoulos", members of the "Colectivo Poético Pindoulo", in their text, "Obrigado", expounded what we could consider the declaration of TREIXADURA´S principles.
DONICELAS, "pandereteiras" group which contributed with its voices to the "Muiñeira de Oliveira", giving it that special touch and that coolness that these girls transmit in each of their performances.

The record´s title makes a clear reference to what we wanted to be: a gratitude gesture to all the people who preceded us in the popular music field, since them TREIXADURA owes its existence. On the other hand, we consider that it´s our duty too to leave some evidence which helps as a reference to all that , in a more or less near future, want to be keep on going forward in the way of the traditional galician music.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
