Damian Draghici
Românian Gypsy Panflute Virtuoso
14.99
I know what you are thinking... "oh, god, one of those late-night TV new-age-Zamfir" CDs. No such thing. Like any instrument, the panpipes are only as goodas the artist who handles them, and Gypsy musician Draghici is a master craftsman with a real sense of tradition. So don't expect "Claire de Lune," but rather spirited Gypsy music played with passion, accompanied by an excellent ensemble that includes Omar Faruk Tekbilek on strings, Chris Cunningham on guitars, and
Randy Crafton on percussion. Sitting in are musicians from Celtic, Turkish and Indian traditions.

| "Draghici is an acknowledged master of this somewhat difficult to enjoy instrument. He learned folk tunes in Romania and after the revolution, tried to make a go of it in the rest of Europe. The outside world was less than kind to him, and this focused him into learning more theory, including a degree from Berklee. This American produced album is the result of his extensive technical knowledge combined with his Roma (Gypsy) heritage." Brian Grosjean, RootsWorld |

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
