Kvarts

Jo-Asgeir Lie: accordion
Řystein Rudi: fiddle and mandolin
Tom Willy Rustad: bass, guitar, flute and jew's harp
Erlend Styve: guitar, dobro

This quartet produces original and traditional music based on the folk heritage of their native Norway, but with backgrounds ranging from classical to folk to bluegrass, they imbue their material with an originality that is both elegant at at times quirky. Artful arrangements are executed with masterful playing.

Their first album in 1999 won them the Norwegian "Spellmanpreisen" (musicians prize, a national honor akin to the Grammy)

Their 2001 album continues their prize winning sound, with brand new ideas that still retain the original spark and charm.

Please note!
Most of our CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and we are not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever we can, we used recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
