Press from the record label Tonje Unstad will undoubtedly stand out from the other young songwriters making their debuts this spring. This 25-year old from the north of Norway shows exceptional promise with her special and distinctive lyrics.
"Sett" (Seen), suggests a thrilling mix of songs inspired by rhythm & blues, and lyrics giving glimpses into longing, love, glances, daydreams and the excitement and tension when people meet.
KKV label, is produced by Erik Hillestad. Twenty-five years old and from the north of Norway, Tonje Unstad is KKVs new major star. Her album has a broader range than her single might first suggest, offering tantalizing Latin grooves and echoes of reggae, jazz and flamenco. Tonje Unstad writes all her own lyrics and songs. While she normally sings alone accompanying herself on guitar, on this record she is backed by a band with Bendik Lund Haanshus on guitars, Sveinung Hovensjø on bass, Markus Hernes on drums and Martin Sjølie on keyboards. Guests Jarle Førde on trumpet and flugelhorn and Helge Førde on trombone add an extra dimension.
