Kahcara home manufactory
A label founded by Serbian composer and musician Boris Kovač in 2002. The artist says:
KACHARA is an author's edition, founded in the year 2002. KACHARA in Serbian means a room where barrels are stored and most often it is where wine is produced. KACHARA is part of Boris Kovac's (Rankovic after his mother's surname) family house in Bukovac in Vojvodina, where wine was produced from 1868 to 1941 and where music has been produced since 1985.
KACHARA is a home production in which all the members of a household and their friends take part. KACHARA is manufacturing which is a continuation of the experience of our ancestors who manufactured, promoted and sold their products by themselves.
KACHARA is the kind of manufacturing where work and its product, creativity and its embodiment, love and interest are one.

He says 'In my creative development I distinguish three essential stages, those of House, Way and Being. On the one hand, these stages correspond to certain periods in life and thus position themselves into life`s linear temporal flow, right from the firs up to the third; but on the other hand, these stages are in many a respect simultaneous, they initiate and illuminate one another, so that it is only their interrelationship that makes dramatical structure of that creative "journey" possible. Every stage possesses its own integrity, but only when related to the other ones, actually, to the whole.'

Darko Rundek
-
Mhm A-ha Oh Yeah Da-Da - $17.99 (cdRoots# hm-pir2005)
Croatian born, Paris-based Rundek and his Cargo Orkestar are a band unto themselves, shamelessly mixing European roots with rock, jazz, film music and just plain oddness in a manner only rivaled by Serbian Boris Kovac. Their songs tell of the loneliness of the exile and the placelessness of the Internet, the realities of a modern metropolis and the utopia of a love that transcends all borders, recited and sung in a number of languages. It's all cool and callous, wonderfully played and very original.
Boris Kovac and La Campanella
-
World after History - $17.99 (cdRoots# hm-pir1997)
With La Campanella, Boris Kovac, composer, instrumentalist and multimedia artist from the Vojvodina part of Yugoslavia, spins off his critically acclaimed La Danza Apocalypsa Balcanica project. La Campanella's Pannonian-Mediterranean round-trip creates sentimental spaces, interrelated by the threads of nostalgia, joy, tristesa, romantic enthusiasm and melancholy. 'I can't change or stop history. I just could say, 'History is over – for a moment – for the time of music we play on this album.'' - BK

Just imagine: The morning after the apocalypse … Are we still alive? We wonder. It would appear so. There´s no end to this world … There´s no rest for the soul … There´s no past … There´s no future … Now is eternal …'
