Tam Nà VulinnVestibule (Homerecords) This Belgian band plays fast and loose with tradition and jazz, and pushes the boundaries of what they call folk music. Alexis Amette (guitars), Baptiste Argouarc'h (5 stringed violin) and Mathieu Guyon (percussion, vibraphone) are joined on a few tracks by guests Charles Lucas (bass) and Yannick Leblay (programming) hint at Celtic and American roots, Flemish tradition and global pop and ultimately produce a sound that is quite original. Fans of the great Tesi - Valliant duo projects will find this intriquing.

The band says: Tam Nà Vulinn was founded in Rennes, Bretagne, playing Folkmusic but not only... The Irish accents of the fiddle set the atmosphere for a moment. Then, comes a swinging drums and vibes accompaniment, followed by chords of jazz-funk guitar. It starts with a trip in Ireland, continues in America, sometimes crossing to Eastern worlds. Irish and jazz tunes, traditional and modern melt, compete and answer to each other. With wide open ears, Tam Nà Vulinn dresses Folk with modern and colourful clothes. Since its creation in 2003, the main goal of the quartet is to make Irish reels swing and to produce a funky taste to jigs. With their album "vestibule" you'll maybe think that Georges Brassens and Marcus Miller have family in Dublin. Have a good vestibulation.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
