Arbete and Fritid - $17.99 (cdRoots# mnw-fritid)
Before there was Hoven Droven and Garmarna, there was the heavy-folk rock band called Arbete and Fritid, the Jethro Tull or Fairport of Sweden, with their heavy brass, electric guitars, fiddles and flutes making the 1970s in Sweden shake and rumble. They were alternately loud or elegant, vibrant and often quite wry. This reissue makes them new again!

Drängkammarlåtar (Farm-hand Tunes) - $17.99 (cdRoots# giga-32)
The trio plays music that was in fashion among country people in Sweden at the beginning of this century. Simon and Kjell-Erik (of Hoven Droven) play the fiddle as well as Simon's brother Olle, who also ccompanies on zither and guitar. Most of the tunes come from the fiddlers from andAulvdalen in Dalecarlia and Offerdal in Jamtland.

Offerdalslåtar - $17.99 (cdRoots# giga-60)
Jämtland (Sweden) fiddler Kjell-Erik Eriksson is best known for his work with rock-monsters Hoven Droven and the neo-folk traditions of Triakel. But on his first solo effort, he performs traditional tunes of the old fiddlers from Offerdal, especially that of Falks brothers, Olle and Ante. It's a rare treat to hear a popular music performer hit home with such simple, sweet beauty.
