Sitarist Shujaat Husain Khan is considered one of the great North Indian classical musicians of his generation. His style, known as gayaki ang, is imitative of the subtleties of the human voice. Shujaat is also known for his exceptional voice. The tracks on Hawa Hawa are mostly love songs and melodies remembered from his childhood. It is the simple beauty of these songs that makes this recording special. While Shujaat's life has been largely dedicated to the great classical tradition of North India, his heart lies in these simple melodies.
