| An orgy of flute as Flook celebrate their 10th anniversary as a top quality instrumental band defying the logical restrictions of their flute-driven line-up.... No flies on Flook whose own flute protagonists Brian Finnegan and Sarah Allen drive their own album with tireless flair and constant ingenuity. It's an album so caringly recorded and produced (by themselves and Mark Tucker) you can hear their gulps of air on what has a very live feel, with all the excitement that implies. The difference with the McGoldrick album - and perhaps the reason I like this one more - is that Flook are clearly a working band intuitively in tune with one another. While the Finnegan-Allen flutes weave the melody lines, the lithe guitar additions of Ed Boyd and Kelly's inspirational bodhran work, play just as key a role in the considerable impact they collectively achieve. There are many jaw-dropping moments: the mellow Souter Creek is transfixingly beautiful; Kelly's handiwork on Wrong Foot Forward is stunning and closing track On One Beautiful day is heart-wrenchingly evocative. Cameos from Seckou Keita, Leon Hunt, Padraig Rynne and Catriona McKay add to the texture.... They're not exactly prolific (this is only their 3rd studio album in 10 years) but when they do go in they tend to get it right. - Colin Irwin, fRoots |

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
