For Drop The Debt, a group world renowned musicians has come together with compassion, humor and determination to raise awareness of a devastating humanitarian crisis. Needless suffering is caused by the crushing debt burden that developing nations must live with on a daily basis. A worldwide movement to forgive the debt of these struggling countries has attracted the support of a wide range of political leaders and celebrities, notably U2’s Bono. On each of the tracks here has been either written especially for this album or selected due to its relevance to the topic. The raw power of their words and music is undeniable, as it comes straight from the heart – and in some cases, first-hand experience.
