Two CD set presents Basque singing from several generations and styles, a mixture of 'wild songs' without words, formal choral singing, improvisations, pastorals and more modern song forms. There are both a capella and small ensemble pieces. This set portrays an art that has been able to keep up-to-date without losing any of its poetic force. The real deal, traditional songs, not a modern interpretive approach.
A nice presntation, 2 CDs in a large format (6" x 10") hard-cover book with photos, songs notes and essays in French, English, Basque and Spanish.
