The Cuban charanga band Orquesta Aragon is an integral part of Cuba’s musical history. Founded in 1939, just about the same time Duke Ellington was meeting Billy Strayhorn for the first time, its name and its repertory have been transmitted from generation to generation. Orquesta Aragon are also credited with inspiring the New York mambo craze in the 1950’s, collaborating with such legends of the mambo and the cha-cha-cha as Perez Prado and Beny Moré. The variety of the group’s rhythms, inventiveness and the quality and presence of its musicians, combine to make them today’s top ambassadors of Afro-Cuban music.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
