The record label satates:
Anonymous 4's natural and decidedly non-classical approach to the roots-flavored music on American Angels will surprise and delight listeners accustomed to the group's familiar repertoire of medieval music. This collection features 18th-century psalm settings from rural New England, 19th-century shape-note and camp revival songs from the rural South and some of America's best-loved gospel songs. Divided into five thematic sections – Invitation, Grace, Journey, Crossing and Parting — American Angels follows a repentant sinner on the path to salvation. Musical selections were drawn from such seminal collections as The Southern Harmony, The Sacred Harp, and The Bay Psalm Book (the first book published in the English-speaking New World). In addition to two versions of “Amazing Grace,” the disc also features “Angel Band,” (made famous in the Cohen brothers film, O Brother, Where Art Thou?) “Shall We Gather at the River,” “Sweet By and By,” “Wayfaring Stranger” and “Sweet Hour of Prayer.”

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
