Mohsen Kasirossafar and Veselin Mitev
Ditirambi (Hermes, Iran)
Two musicians join forces for a cross-cultural exploration. The kaval (flute) and gaida (bagpipes) of Veselin Mitev of Bulgaria and the Persian tombak and daf of Mohsen Kasirossafar of Iran find mutual sonic resonance in these duets by two master musicians.

The record company says:
Atmospheres wrapped in the legend, peopled by fabulous creatures, are here evoked by the kaval and gaida of Veselin Mitev (Bulgaria) and the percussion of Mohsen Kasirossafar (Iran). A spontaneous, happy and worthy union of the most genuine bucolic and pastoral tradition, reached to us from a remote and common past of the ancient Indo-European cultures. Fanciful melodies of sylvan songs come to the surface at times uncontaminated, from the noise of the centuries. The myth of the Arcadians seems to revive in deep and evocative notes of the pipes, in the refined rhythms of the Persian tombak and daf. (Kaval is a traditional Bulgarian straight flute and Gaida the bagpipe]

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
