the official bio:
Pegleg Ferret are Keith Pollard, Geoff Anderson and Benny Graham. They specialise in three-part harmony singing and lean towards material, which is either traditional or written in the traditional idiom. They have a bias towards industrial songs from the North-East of England but also perform a number of humorous songs. They were all in their teens when they first met and got to know each other through performing as solo singers around the local folk club circuit. They reformed in late 2001 after a layoff of several years and are thoroughly enjoying their new lease of life.

The Ferret began life in 1970 with Geoff, Benny and Danka Jurovska (who was said to be of Polish nobility). Keith was singing and playing in a group called Music Museum at the time. Even then they specialised in three-part harmony singing. Danka left the line-up and was replaced by Gael Briggs. They eventually split up and the ferret disbanded for a short time...

A few months later Geoff and Benny took over the running of Shotley Bridge Folk Club and Keith joined the club as a resident. All three were singing solo and Benny was already making it a full time career. One night no other singers attended the folk club and just to give the audience a bit of variety the boys decided to sing some songs together, sticking to well known songs. They found that their efforts were well received and so it was decided to revive Pegleg Ferret and look for work together.

During their time together they have performed both nationally and throughout Europe and appeared on record, television and radio. The band has sung at many major festivals including the national at Loughborough and Durham . Pegleg Ferret were the first guests to be booked at the renowned White Horse Folk Club in Beverley.....better known as "Nellies" They recently sang at the Durham Miners Gala where the attendance was reported as being over 50,000 people. The Ferret recently played at the Whitby , Furness Traditions, Galloway, Lancaster Maritime, and Holmfirth Festivals.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
