cd cover Zenobia
I Vintermørkets Hal (Go! Danish Folk Music)

The Danish trio calls this "an album for all winters - from all our winters. From the magically Christmassy ones when we were little girls, over those shrouded in picturesque snow to those rainy and stormy ones." Zenobia offers spritely dances, sad stories and joyous celebrations of the winter's cold pleasures. Sometimes rustic, sometimes elegant, the music speaks of winter in any language and any country.

Tracks and samples: More info: Well known Seasonal songs and carols interpreted by Louise Støjbergs crystal clear voice, accompanied by the excellent musicians Charlotte Støjberg, piano and Mette Kathrine Jensen, accordion. On top of this the producer Torben Sminge has made arrangement for string quartet and choir. This album is not for this winter. It is for all winters. And more importantly: from all our winters. From the magically Christmassy ones when we were little girls, over those shrouded in picturesque snow to those rainy and stormy ones; recent winters, where fireplaces and music seems to have made us irreversibly grown up; and made us better at handling the rain, the busyness and the darkness with a song and a verse. Since our debut 'Midnat' (2008), we have had the pleasure of playing hundreds of concerts in Denmark and its surroundings. We have let our concerts follow the seasons and have slowly played our way into a winter-repertoire which is wider than Christmas songs, wider than hymns - and yet embraced by both. We have played this repertoire in churches, publichouses and concert halls for audiences who really share no age, standing or faith; but who solely are united in music. That love of the words and the melodies is something we ourselves share with our audience.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
