cd cover Trolska Polska
{moss} (Go Danish Folk)
cdRoots Code: go-0814

The Danish band's self-description is "Marsh women, goblins, giants, elves and trolls... they are mysterious creatures which since ancient times has been a favorite subject for literature, visual arts, drama and music. Trolska Polska is possibly the world's first dedicated tribute band to the Nordic myth-creatures!"

That may seem a bit twee, but the music is anything but: it's solid, rollicking, rugged Nordic roots music with an edge.

The band says:
"Whether we believe in them or not, they exist deep in our Nordic conscious." The Danish-Swedish group Trolska Polska, celebrate the mythical trolls, playing their troll music on keyed harp, hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes and fiddles.

The front-man is the musician and composer Martin Seeberg (well-known from bands as Sorten Muld, Instinkt, Valravn, Asynje, Virelai) has joined with some of the next generation most talented young Danish and Swedish folk musicians.

The music is new written by Martin Seeberg inspired from the world of trolls, the deep woods and the old Nordic tradition.

The seven musicians in the band provide great energy, spontaneity and a variety of tradition, new fresh, local and global unique Nordic music and a new troll folk sound.

Trolska Polska started in 2011 and has since played at great number of venues and festivals in Denmark and Sweden.

They also attend many of the festivals, especially, in the Benelux countries Hvad enten vi tror på dem eller ej, så findes de et sted derinde i vores nordiske bevidsthed.

Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
