Gaiteiros de Lisboa
Macaréu
$17.99
The 2002 release by this unique Portuguese band upholds their tradition of serious roots, serious musianship and a playful, sometimes twisted sense of humor, all played out on bagpipes, drums, voices and a host of other instruments, both traditional, contemporary, and in many cases, completely fabricated by the band members themselves.

| "For this work, the Gaiteiros count on the participation of percussionist Pablo Charneca, along with Rui Júnior... For this new giant wave, a giant step: the group tries and invents new instruments... In "Macaréu" the creativity of the group was strengthened in the construction of two new instruments: "Tubarões," a percussion instrument made of PVC pipes and the 'Tambor de Cordas,' adapted from a medieval instrument..." Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
