The band members are well known in Hungarian musical circles for work in both folk and newly composed music. The possiblity of transforming the music of Jewish tradition with other ethnic styles was compelling, and the band was formed to persue a new idea for the old music.
The Odessa Klezmer Band unifies the traditional and contemporary, playing the melodies with a unique and personal approach. There is no attempt at authenticity, just an urge to know, understand and PLAY the music. This is their first recording.
