Here are 31 of Pokela's historical recordings of kantele music, published by the Folk Music Institute in Kaustinen, Finland. The kantele master from Haapavesi is one of the best known and most honored perveyors of the tradition. These recordings were made in the 1950s and 60s, and include his performances on some of the old instruments collected by the Finnish National Museum, so you get to almost relive the old masters through Pokela's playing of their instruments.

Ketun Valitus (14 string kantele from the museum collection)
Kalevalainen sävelmä (7 string kantele, from the museum collection)

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
