Finnish fiddler Otto Hotakainen (1908-1990) came from Halsua, in central Ostrobothnia. By the 1970s he had become a recognized star of the Finnish folk fiddling firmament (no small feat in a nation of incredible fiddlers), and his compositions were considered among the best written. These 24 tunes were compiled by his son Risto as a tribute to his mastery and love of the music.
The tunes are presented in solo performance, or accompanied by kantele or harmonium.
