This is a collection of what might be called (in America) 'outsider music' but is is really just a collection of local popular music from the bars and cafes of Finland, ranging from folk music to cheesy pop to all manner of things in between. It's funny, it's sincere, it's unexpected. The collection was put together by the producers of Finnish Radiomafia's Cafe Veijon Baari program, Jukka Lindfors and Santtu Luoto. It features punky pop, cheek-music, huumpa-rock, singing dogs, protest songs and covers of popular tunes, most of it decidedly lo-fi and homemade. For those who miss a drive through the Finnish countryside in summer (where you might encounter these folks at a small cafe or bar along the road), this is a slice of the real life.
