La Furlancia is a rather new group but its three musicians have a long history in traditional music. Their repertoire of traditional dances and songs from Liguria also draws some inspiration from the music of Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna, all regions which share a common musical language. In the past, traditional songs and dances were strongly related to their place in a society which had a different organization; but this band decided to change things, building up and arranging the music give the music relevance in the 21st century. This is not pop/fusion but a personal reinvention to create a new, and vitial, traditional music.
