Renat Sette and Maurizio Martinotti

Renat Sette, the voice of Provence, with an acoustic band of four Italian musicians, comparing the repertoires of Piedmont and Provence. Last June this CD received the Bravos! from the French Trad Mag. Many concerts in Italy and France show there is a wide interest on this work, whose musicians are probably the main characters in folk music of their Regions.

| "The French region of Provence borders Piemonte, and Dòna Bèla is an album that compares the repertoires of these two areas through the singing of Frenchman Renat Sette, accompanied by four Italian musicians: Martinotti, Negro, Sergio Caputo (violin), and Jean Louis Ruf (mandocello, percussion). At times two versions of the same song, one from either side of the border, are presented in medley together. "Lo Gibós" is a call-and-response chorus song about a hunchback, with only percussion backing the vocals. There are slow ballads ("Bella Ciao"), and upbeat numbers ("Diga Janeta"). Liner notes are in Italian, Piemontese, French, and Provençal." - Al Reiss, Dirty Linen |

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
