Biographie

Biography
Sylvie Bergère was born in 1961.

she discovers and practical the song and the traditional dances as of the 10 years age in a group of arts and popular traditions of her area, the la jimbr'tée bourbonnaise.

other artistic adventures will follow where the theatre, the jazz, the dance and the music will mix contemporary, but also with other musicians and musicians also in love with these songs: ground flower with estelle amsellem, robert amyot and jean blanchard, screen with jean blanchard, jilles chabenat, frederic bets and gabriel yacoub

one can also hear sylvie on recordings by the Finnish singer marja mattlar and with the Flemish group ambrozijn. La beregere (the shepherdess), the new trio, mixes traditional songs with the original works.

"The first album from a trio consisting of Sylvie Bergère (vocals), Julien Biget (guitar) and Emmanuel Pariselle (accordeon), at least two of whom have cropped up elsewhere in my somewhat haphazard collection of French records. Described in one review as having "the voice of a fairy" (a compliment which may lose something in translation), Bergère and co. include a little traditional material, set some poems to music and perform several songs co-written by producer Gabriel Yacoub. What they aren't about is full-throttle attack delicacy is the order of the day and the contrast between their arrangement of Jour De Lessive and Yacoub's own could scarcely be more marked. On initial acquaintance the set does seem a bit insubstantial, but repeated listening uncovers elegantly crafted gems like Petits Cailloux and Le Soleil Dans Ta Poche. Biguet's inventive use of slide guitar is a big plus throughout as well." - Nick Beale, fRoots

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
