Hughes de Courson and Patrick Modiano
fonds de tiroir 1967 (le Rouseau)
$18.99
In 1967 these two founding members of the legendary French folk ensemble Malicorne produced a recording of bitter songs, strange characters, daring and fresh arrangements, with Bruno Coulais as arranger. It's a collection of little vignettes found in the bottom of a drawer; lyrical and musical snippets of a life unfolding in odd measures of music, and like the little artifacts of life that we tuck away for safekeeping, it lay undiscovered for many years. In 1979 [the year Modiano wins the Prix Goncourt, France's utimate literature prize], the album wass released with no succes at all... since then, fonds de tiroir 1967 has been a cult album, much coveted by French musicians, artists and the discerning public alike. Highly recommended!
