"Månsson's playing is agile and expressive, with a wonderfully elastic sense of phrasing. Åberg has a clean, sure-footed touch on lutes, guitar, and mandolin. The arrangements, while not flashy, are clever and forward-looking... They're both capable of technically brilliant playing, but the focus is always on the music, never on show-offy fireworks displays... absolutely captivating." - Peggy Latkovich, RootsWorld
...The flutist and percussionist Göran Månsson and
the lutenist Sven Åberg take on a bunch of folk
melodies from for instance Jämtland and Medelpad
from a slightly different perspective on the album
"Spår". The musicianship is of the highest quality,
folk and hints of the medieval and renaissance
periods are combined with improvisation and
touches of jazz.... Göran Månsson switches between a number of
different flute types, from Härjedal pipe to
subcontrabass recorder. His rhythmic work on
bodhran and goat hoofs (!) create a suggestive
urgency using restrained means. And Sven Åberg
shows his musical scope with a well-balanced
virtuosity ranging from soft soundscapes to exalted
rhythms. - Ulf Gustavsson, Upsala Nya Tidning
