The record label says:
Many attempts have been made to create a synthesis between Eastern and Western music. The result of these projects is generally that one of the forms dominates while the other is merely used for ornamentation. Bustan Abraham tries to face this challenge, and is pioneering a unique form of instrumental music which combines elements of Arabic, classical European, Jazz, Turkish, Persian, Indian and Flamenco music. Bustan is a Hebrew and Arabic word meaning "garden of fruits and essences". As for Abraham/Ibrahim, he is the symbolic ancestor of both the Arabs (through his son Isaac) and the Jews (through his son Ishmael). Thus, "Abraham's Garden". The ensemble was founded in 1991 by Avshalom Farjun. It gathers seven distinguished musicians, both Jews and Arabs, who moreover come from very diverse musical and biographical backgrounds. The instrumentation includes Middle Eastern instruments such as the oud (lute), the qanoun (zither), the violin, and a variety of drums. These are joined by Western instruments that include, flute, classical and flamenco guitar, banjo and electric bass. The music reflects this richness and diversity, and is composed and arranged by all members of the group. Bustan Abraham aspires to create a new musical form which speaks to both Eastern and Western audiences, and to pave the way for other joint creative efforts between Arabs and Jews in the Middle East. The ensemble has been touring since 1992, and its powerful stage performance was enthusiastically received by audiences in the USA, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Hong Kong etc.

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
