Riccardo Tesi and Banditaliana
Lune (Il manifesto)
$17.99

The 2005 release by the master acordionist from Italy and his fine ensemble of Maurizio Geri (guitar and voice), Claudio Carboni (sax) and Ettore Bonafè (percussion), with a big gang of guest artists including Daniele Sepe, Patrick Vaillant, Ginevra diMarco and many more. Traditional songs and lots of new material written by written by Tesi, Geri and the fine Sicilian singer-songwriter Carlo Muratori. Nothing less than brilliant, as expected!

CD also includes two extra tracks, remixes of "Tekvah" and "Maggio" from earlier Banditaliana recordings, mashed out by the Italian DJ Ominostanco. I don't think they do anything to elighten the listener or add to the Tesi legend, really, but they're fun enough for freebies.

"Since the very first time his finger tips touched an accordion, Riccardo Tesi has been wandering down new musical lanes, mixing jazz and tradition. All of his recordings reflect his inventive talents. For Banditaliana he called up his old friends - Tuscany born musicians who, like him, love their native culture, but who are always ready for adventure." Le Monde - Patrick Labess

Please note!
Most CDs have been imported from Europe or Asia. They are not all shrink-wrapped, and I am not going to con you by wrapping them here just to make you think they have been sterilized in America. We guarantee that the CDs and the contents are all brand new and in perfect condition. Whenever I can, I use recycled shipping materials. They may not look as pretty on the outside, but they save money and keep the trash dumps a little bit emptier.
