La Lionetta have long been one of the most popular and appreciated of the Italian revival-folk bands, as well as on of the less orthodox. The group has always preferred a creative interpretation, free from the contraints of northern-Italy pop music. Their repertoire is characterised on one hand by creative composition of music and text and on the other hand by an unconventional attitude towards the music and arrangements. The musicianship is top-level, and the instrumentation is audacious: accordions, bagpipes, percussion from Europe, Africa and India, tuba, cornmuse, violin, kemecheh, flutes, reeds, horns and guitars.
