Kryon - Blue Gold (CNI/La Frontiera, Italy)
Composer Roberto Rusconi and a group of European musicians gather together to make a thematic statement about water and its essential importance to the world's people. A political statement as well as an artistic one, it is finely wroght in jazz, rock and ambient groove by Roberto Bortoluzzi and Francesco Boldini (guitars), Marco Tamburini (trumpets), Aldo Tagliapietra (sitar), Billy Hart (drums) and Cameron Brown (double-bass) and then the vocal creativity of the Philadelphia poet Ursula Rucker, Brazilian singer Marisa Monte, as well as the rappers Napoleon Maddox (from Cincinnati,USA),Juny kp! (Brazil), Papa Winnie (Jamaica), and remixer Alex Danielsson aka DJ 1210 jazz (Sweden). (One Euro from every sale is donated by the label to UNICEF.)

The artists' statement
Blue Gold is a collective musical project dedicated to the water and to its deep meaning in our life.
Water is a precious element, the very concrete daily image of our wellfare , an irrepleaceable resource, that is, always more, the victim of the most dramatic and discussed form of globalization.
The idea was born in Italy, thanks to the musician Roberto Rusconi, also jazz and classic composer; but this idea was immediately joined by great artists from all over the world.
So, beside him and other Italian musicians like Roberto Bortoluzzi and Francesco Boldini (guitars), Marco Tamburini (Trumpets), Aldo Tagliapietra (former "Le Orme",an historical Italian band,sitar), perform Billy Hart (drums) and Cameron Brown (double-bass), who represent a very experienced and sofisticated rhythm - but indeed open to new- and then the vocal creativity of the poet from Philadelphia Ursula Rucker, the Brazilian Marisa Monte ( just back from the big success with Tribalistas), as well as the rappers Napoleon Maddox (from Cincinnati,USA),Juny kp! (Brazil), Papa Winnie, (Jamaica) and last but not least, the virtuoso remix by Alex Danielsson aka DJ 1210 jazz (Sweden).
From the sound point of view, this project, whose live version has been supported by the videoartist and producer Valentino Borgia and by the dancer Signale.it, belongs to the musical fluency of the most communicative and smart avant garde, blending very different musical traditions (from jazz to ethno,from rap to reggae,from bossa to electronic) with the help of scratching,social engaged lyrics.
It is then, not by chance that The Kryon and Blue Gold together with CNI and LA FRONTIERA stand by UNICEF supporting its great humanitarian project for the children from all over the world, by devolving 1 Euro for each CD sold.
