These songs sung by those people of the Lodz Ghetto at the time of their tyrannical oppression represent a nostalgic window into the past. Yankele, the street singer, Miriam, the young girl, David, the theater director of the House of Culture , tell how mankind, independently from hunger, death and desperation , had the strength to dream, deride power and shout at injustice.
A dreadful reality during which the people segregated in the ghetto, nothwithstanding their hard work for the Reich in support of war, were dying day by day for hunger and oppressions..Those who survived were at the end waiting for their deportations to the Nazi camps for their "final solution"
These songs of the Lodz ghetto are not only universal but able to convey deep feelings worldwide.
For the above reasons "Yankele nel Ghetto" isn’t a strictly philologic work.
Klezroym, in going through this fantastic project, have not only maintained their musical identity but they have expressed their deep emotions and their ability to listen and tell.
"Yankele nel Ghetto" is dedicated to all those people who still suffer for the lost of freedon and see their essential rights trampled.

Please note!
Most CDs have been
imported from Europe or Asia.
They are not all
shrink-wrapped, and I am not
going to con you by wrapping them
here just to make you think they
have been sterilized in America.
We guarantee that the CDs and the
contents are all brand new and in
perfect condition. Whenever I
can, I use recycled shipping
materials. They may not look as
pretty on the outside, but they save
money and keep the trash dumps a
little bit emptier.
